Individuals in these positions are responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience for everyone who enters the greenhouse. Customer facing roles encompass a variety of tasks, from assisting customers and stocking retail displays to processing transactions and handling product.

 Responsibilities

  • Greet customers courteously and offer assistance as needed
  • Answer customer questions regarding plant care, conditions, and availability
  • Move plants using a push cart to restock retail displays in greenhouse
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Clean and maintain plants as required
  • Assist in coordination of custom order pick up and drop off
  • Other duties as required

 General Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Customer service experience is an asset
  • Familiarity with plants or an interest in gardening is an asset
  • Computer literacy and/or experience working cash, credit and debit transactions is an asset
  • Attention to detail and punctuality is essential
  • Must be friendly, open, and approachable
  • Willingness and ability to quickly learn plant varieties and care information for a wide range of products
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Must be able to manage frequent interruptions and multitask

 Conditions:

  • Fast paced, physically demanding work environment that requires standing for long periods of time, as well as frequent lifting, carrying, and use of push carts
  • Wide range of temperature depending on weather and work location
  • Saturdays and holidays are mandatory
  • Expect to work 6 days a week during peak seasons
  • Public transit is not available to this location, reliable means of transportation is necessary

Customer service/sales opportunities vary in duration according to operational demands. Individuals may be required to move between positions as seasonal demands change.
